Laser Systems

Arm. Equip. Deliver. In addition to developing Laser Guided Energy (LGE™) technology, in 2007 we assembled a team of military laser specialists in St. Louis, Missouri to focus on our customers’ needs for rugged, state-of-the-art laser systems. New to the company but rich in technical experience, the group has successfully designed, built, and delivered high performance laser solutions which operate today in many unique and demanding environments.

The focus of our Military Laser Group is the military and aerospace pulsed laser market. Many of these lasers are adapted to accommodate specific user needs and requirements that extend beyond the capability of existing commercial products.

These custom laser projects are typically aimed at longer term laser products or limited production runs, or are a base of contracted engineering development which can be used to derive new systems. In particular, we are targeting near-term needs for unmanned vehicles. These systems require lasers that operate without refrigerated cooling systems, allowing the laser transmitter to be smaller and lighter.

Developed Systems

Transportable Demonstrator
In November 2007, Applied Energetics delivered a transportable vehicle-based femto-second high-power system laser to the U.S. Navy. The Ultra-Short Pulsed Laser Transportable Demonstrator is an integrated, mobile, laser laboratory with a state-of-the-art, ultrashort pulsed laser and motion-stabilized beam delivery optics. This system provides the Navy with unique capabilities to study terawatt laser-atmospheric interactions in a wide variety of environments and over long ranges.
